Leah and Dan met through mutual friends in high school. Leah says “We stole school Halloween decorations together, it was true love”. Well when you have someone who does the same things as you, you know this person has to be the one! Leah and Dan are both huge lifelong readers. It’s so nice that they are able to share their passion for reading together!
Leah and Dan have been together for over 14 years so this day has been a long time coming. They found that despite the stresses of wedding planning, it never changed their friendship and they always have fun together. Their wedding day was held at the Ajax Convention Centre and was largely attended by their family. It was perfect since the venue was close to their home and represented the next stage in their relationship.
Leah and Dan chose a dramatic look (black and red colour scheme) but also incorporated their love for books in their wedding. They had a different book title on each dining table and incorporated a blurb for each one and why they love it. They always love to recommend books and comics to others so hopefully in doing so, they will spark some interest! They also had a board for guests to sign over a poster of hand-drawn piles of books. Such a unique idea!
Leah wore a beautiful mermaid shape dress that had a halter neckline with gorgeous lace and pearl detailing. Her bouquet was gorgeous in shades of red and burgundy with different shapes and textures to give it a unique touch. Since Leah used to work in the stationery industry, she still has a love for beautiful custom invitations. Their invitations from Brooklin Paper Co. was her favourite wedding detail. It featured black paper stock, white ink print, rose gold foil stamping, lace detailing and a fancy die-cut shape.
It was very glam to match their wedding colour scheme! I love how Dan wore a deep burgundy suit. He wanted to wear something different than the standard black or blue suit. He paired it with a black dress shirt and a muted bowtie and pocket square. But Leah says the coolest thing about his outfit are his custom shoes! But have you seen their wedding rings? I love how they chose such unique pieces as well!
At the end of the evening, Leah and Dan slow danced to “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson. By the smiles on their faces, you could just tell that despite all these years of being together, their love has never faded. When you find your love, your best friend, your perfect match – you stand by them and love them no matter what.
