Carrie and Duncan had a beautiful Christmas wedding, having their wedding just two days before Christmas! They incorporated the Christmas season into their wedding theme with festive reds, greens and sparkles. I love how laid back and intimate their wedding was. With only a handful of their very closest family and friends who joined them to celebrate this special occasion!
Carrie got ready along with her two sisters and her mom at The Barrack’s Inn, a hotel close by to the Ancaster Mill. Shortly before their wedding ceremony, Carrie met with her husband-to-be, Duncan for a quick (and very sweet!) first look on the bridge outside the chapel. It was absolutely freezing outside but Carrie and Duncan were such troopers in the snow! Carrie, even getting her toes right into the snow for some photos!
Carrie and Duncan’s wedding ceremony was held at the Solarium Room. A beautiful intimate room which overlooks a small creek that runs through the mill. With all the fresh white snow around, it was such a sight. The room was then quickly flipped around for their small family-style dinner reception. What was super sweet was Carrie’s sister in law, Kim, made their wedding cake! The recipe is actually a family favourite for over 40 years – first made by the Bride’s mom Jane! Love!!
I think intimate weddings like these are so incredibly sweet! I always feel so lucky when families let me into their world and allow me to capture these special occasions for them. This was truly a special day!
