Alyssia and Jose met in the first year at Ryerson University in finance class. They’ve now been together for nine years and also been dealing with long distance. Although Alyssia continues to live in Toronto, Jose had to move to San Diego for work. But they say love conquers all because they looked so happy to be getting married!
Alyssia and Jose chose The Arlington Estate as their wedding venue as they felt it fit exactly into the style of wedding they wanted. Their wedding was classy, sophisticated and elegant with burgundy, cream, blush and gold colours. Alyssia wore a gorgeous Enzoani lace gown with the longest train I’ve ever seen in my life! Jose complemented her look with a dark grey three-piece suit with burgundy accents.
During Alyssia and Jose’s ceremony, both of their respective mothers participated in a candle lighting ceremony and they read their own personalized vows to each other. Gorgeous deep red rose flower arrangements decorated both their wedding ceremony and reception. But I really loved their wedding cake! It was such a classic three-tiered cake that was covered in burgundy and gold fondant and pink sugar orchid flowers. Super pretty! The orchids looked so real! Alyssia’s bridesmaids wore Christina Wu gowns from Jealous Bridesmaids that matched so nicely.
My favourite moment of the whole wedding day was the very moment Alyssia and Jose absolutely floored the entire room with their bride and groom performance. They had decided that instead of doing the same old tradition of a first dance as husband and wife, they would instead perform a song together. Alyssia has some incredible natural talent with the voice of an angel. As a child, she had taken voice and piano lessons and boy did they pay off. Jose played the guitar as she sang to “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”. You could just tell that the song touched everybody’s hearts because everybody sat there dead silent, absolutely enthralled her voice. There were teary eyes and hearts bursting, but nobody could look away. The very moment the song ended there was an immediate standing ovation for the newly wedded couple.
I could not be happier that Alyssia and Jose found each other and have managed to stick by each other after all these years while STILL being so far apart! Congratulations Alyssia and Jose. Your love and devotion for each other have no bounds. Thank you for having us capture this special day of yours.
