As promised, here are our photos from our wedding day in Bali! We got these awhile ago, but I’ve been super slow in posting them! With our Toronto wedding reception coming up in two weeks I thought it’s about time I post these! We also have our wedding video, but are waiting to first release it to our guests at our reception at The Estates of Sunnybrook. After that, we will post it online!
We decided to have our wedding in May 2016 to celebrate our fifth year anniversary of relationship! We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at Villa Anugrah on the south west end in Bali. I wrote a blog post last year on why we decided to choose this as our wedding venue. A huge thank you to our dream photographer, Marcus Bell at Studio Impressions who flew from shooting a wedding in Melbourne the day before our wedding to make it. I wrote a blog post on how we found and chose our wedding photographer for our big day.
Everyone will tell you how quickly a wedding day goes by and it really did. For Elliott and I, we both knew how quickly it goes by having shot so many weddings together. Having witnessed so many weddings, we’ve seen all the many things that can and will go wrong and I tried my hardest to not be fazed about these things. But when it comes to our your wedding day, it is so hard to separate yourself from it. I knew that with planning a destination wedding that I would need to go in with a VERY open mind to allow me to enjoy the wedding as much as possible. Overall, we were just so happy that we were all there together. I previously wrote about my thoughts on having a destination wedding in more detail here.
I am so thankful to have these photos to cherish our wedding day. Even though Elliott and I were technically already married, this day meant a lot to us for so many reasons. When I look back at these photos, I think about how far we have come but happy it makes me that we have so many more years to enjoy each other’s company. My favourite photos are the ones we managed to get out on the rocks at the beach together. Our life together makes me feel so lucky and I hope our children will get to see the love that we have through these photos. Family is so important to us and these photos will stay with our family forever.
