Chermain loves animals, so much that she followed her dream to become a veterinarian. In doing so, she spent five years in Australia and came back as a fully qualified vet. As she returned to Toronto, she decided to take up Mandarin classes at Seneca College. Alex, who is incredibly smart himself (a lawyer!) wanted to learn Mandarin as well and took the same class. One day he found himself sitting directly behind a beautiful woman luscious long black hair. Alex describes how Chermain went on to ace her tests and received a bunch of A’s. Alex on the other hand.. well he was just happy to pick up a wife. :) So sweet!
Chermain and Alex share the love of cats and beautiful architecture. This is why for their engagement session we went to Parkwood Estates as well as the very reason they chose LIUNA Station in Hamilton for their wedding. Chermain and Alex’s wedding day started out at the Sheraton Hotel. Olivia Ha did such an awesome job with beautifying Chermain that she looked as pretty as a doll! Chermain wore her first of four outfits that day, a stunning gold qua (Chinese wedding dress) for the door games and tea ceremonies. Later then changed into an incredible sparkly bridal dress from Gardenia Bridal and rode in a Rolls Royce for their ceremony. At the reception, Chermain changed again into a Pronovias mermaid dress from Mona Richie Bride and then again into a red Chinese mermaid dress for toasting!
I loved their colour scheme which used a range of colours from navy, gold, light pink and fuchsia. Although it was traditional, it was such a beautiful romantic look. Their wedding decor and florals by Secrets Floral was simply stunning. The entire room was filled with a mixture of tall and short rose bouquet centrepieces on gold candelabras and vases. The gold gave it that true luxurious touch along with the gold charger plates and candle holders. My favourite was the light pink floral linen overlay and the large draped pink backdrop which was so pretty and romantic. It really framed the head table and even the cake so well! A huge thank you goes out to Carmen Luk at Devoted To You who orchestrated the entire wedding and made sure everything went so smoothly!
I met Alex two years ago when I asked him to help me with my contracts. I would have never thought that I would later have the chance to photograph his wedding! I had so much trouble putting together this blog post because there was SO much I wanted to say and SO many photos I wanted to share. Chermain and Alex, I am really so touched that you chose me to capture this truly unforgettably spectacular day. The joining of the two families was such a celebration and the fact that they were surrounded by so many (over 300!) family and friends to celebrate their love made this day so special. Chermain and Alex, I can’t thank you enough for entrusting me with this amazingly magical day! Wishing you love and happiness for eternity.
