Erika and Ryan first met at a post-Christmas party when they came home from university for the holidays and have now been together for over ten years. Both Erika and Ryan got ready for their wedding day at the new Delta Hotel in downtown Toronto which had such gorgeous views of Lake Ontario. This was perfect since Erika and Ryan both live in The Beaches (like us!) as they enjoy being by the water and watching the sunset. It is so relaxing and peaceful! So they had decided on going to the Toronto Harbourfront which was absolutely magical with the sun going down with a beautiful array of warm colours. It was so romantic and we couldn’t have asked for anything better!
Erika and Ryan’s wedding ceremony and reception was to both be held at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District. By this time it was already dark but it was perfect for their candlelit ceremony. I love that their reception was not a formal affair but a fun cocktail set up for their guests to mingle. Having been together for over ten years they have become each other’s best friends who respect and love each other immensely. Erika summed it up pretty nicely when she said that she loved Ryan (who is an avid hockey player) that she still loved him even when she finds the dirty old white towels at the bottom of his hockey bag. Now, that’s love!
A huge congratulations to Erika and Ryan who tied the knot and trusted us in capturing them despite them warning me about how unphotogenic they are and how they’re terribly awkward in photos. I hope that in browsing through these photos, they’ll realize that they are far from that! They were an absolute dream to work with, being the utmost cutest couple I have had the pleasure in photographing!
