Angela and Ryan met online three years ago and hit it off right away. Their first date lasted about eight hours and felt like three first dates rolled into one. They met for lunch at the Three Brewers on Yonge followed by a movie at Yonge and Dundas Square. While most people would have ended the date there, they were having such a great time so they had decided to head over to Snakes and Lattes at Bathurst and Bloor. Of course there was a wait for a table, so we decided to wander around Honest Ed’s to kill time. Angela and Ryan call it the “perfect first date”.
Ryan’s proposal to Angela was deemed “equally perfect”. Angela returned home on a Saturday afternoon and Ryan had covered their dining table in candles and rose petals. In the middle of the table was a jenga tower (one of the games that they played on our first date). But this time, the jenga pieces were customised with their names on each block. Ryan began to talk about love and their relationship and then asked Angela to pull any of the blocks out. The words “will you marry me?” were written on the inside. Angela replied “yes! Of course!” Ryan then asked her to knock down the whole tower and a ring box was sitting at the base.
Angela and Ryan’s wedding at The Doctor’s House was classy and elegant but also just full of fun. Although it was a chilly October day, they were just so happy enjoying their wedding day. Angela and Ryan both got ready on site and beamed with joy when they first saw each other. Angela’s parents could not be with her on her wedding day, but were with her in spirit. Angela walked down the aisle with her parents’ wedding bands tied around her bouquet. It was so special to have them there with her the whole day.
Their wedding reception had a unique element in that they were named by TTC Stations rather than table numbers. Each TTC Station was meaningful to those who sat at the table. I loved how they incorporated Honest Eds into their wedding in that they had their guests write their well wishes around a photo of the beloved Toronto landmark. My favourite moment of their whole wedding day was when Angela and Ryan gave their wedding guests quite the show for their first dance. It was so wonderfully executed and you could just tell their guests were having so much fun watching them grace the floor together.
What an amazing day to celebrate your love, Angela and Ryan! Thank you for having us capture it so that you can remember it for always.
