When I think about Salimah and Fariz’ wedding, I just think to myself “could it have been any sweeter?”. It really was the sweetest wedding weekend and I just knew it would be after spending some time with them photographing their airplane themed engagement session at the Toronto Island Airport.
Salimah and Fariz decided to have their ceremony and reception on separate days and it was so worth it! The day started out in the morning at Salimah’s family home where she had her hair and makeup done by Klickclash. She got into a beautiful white beaded lehenga from Dulhan by Mischeif.
But all Salimah could think about was seeing Fariz. She just kept saying ” I can’t wait to see him!” And it was just as true for Fariz. Fariz came by her home to pick her up and they saw each other for t first time out in her family backyard. The moment Fariz saw Salimah for the first time, he pulled her into a strong embrace and broke down in tears. It has to be one of the cutest first looks I’ve ever got to photograph. They only went without seeing each other for a day and it was more than enough. These two just wanted to be married already!
Salimah and Fariz wedded in a beautiful traditional Ismaili Nikkah ceremony at the Jamatkhana in Scarborough. Right before they signed, Fariz said whispering “let’s do it!”. The moment was finally here and he could not be more excited to make their marriage official! Fariz has to be the most excited groom I’ve ever met and it was just so cute!
We photographed Salimah and Fariz around Rosetta McClain Gardens in Scarborough and around The Doctor’s House in Kleinburg. Since they share a love for planes, they incorporated it into their wedding decor at their lunch reception. They still incorporated their traditional Ismaili ceremonies and ended off their celebration with their first dance. It was so lovely.
Thank you Salimah and Fariz for having us capture your special love!
