Sherri and Greg decided to celebrate their marriage by having a St Patrick’s Day wedding! All they wanted for their wedding day was to eat, drink, and be merry with our closest family and friends. And that’s exactly what St Patty’s Day is all about! Their wedding style was simple and elegant, using blush pink and gold but with hints of green. Despite there being two hundred people coming to celebrate with them, it was really laid-back and so much fun!
The quaint little chapel of The Doctor’s House was exactly why Sherri and Greg chose this venue for their wedding day. The Doctor’s House was constructed with an 1800 style boasting authentic wooden pews, candlelight iron chandeliers, and cathedral windows. Bunches of baby’s breath held in pink ribbon decorated the chapel pews and two large arrangements in white and green stood beautifully on the altar.
The floor-length windows of The Great Hall provided the elegant feel that they wanted for their reception. Blush pink and white centrepieces by Ashton Creative decorated the room. The menus were made with gold foil-pressed printing from Minted. The four-tiered wedding cake by With Love Thuy and Thi was made with blush pink and gold sugar roses on it and topped with a calligraphy sign saying “The Hunt is Over”. It was really sweet of Sherri’s mother to make a traditional Guyanese Black Cake as a favour for all the guests!
Sherri was largely applauded for all her hard work in planning this wedding day! She incorporated the St Patty’s Day theme into their wedding day so beautifully with little hints of green four leaf clovers. She added shamrock shoe stickers that said ‘I Do’ under her Badgley Mischka bridal shoes, her bridesmaids held white and green bouquets, wore an emerald necklace (a gift from the mother of the bride, in honour of St. Patrick’s Day) and even a Pandora bracelet with a shamrock clover charm. These subtle hints of St Patrick’s Day was so classy! Sherri complemented her look with a headband from David’s Bridal and a mid-length lace veil from Sophie’s Gown Shoppe in Mississauga. One thing she wanted to do make a dedication to Greg’s love for hunting (despite the fact that she is the complete opposite and is a strict vegetarian!). She got a green camouflage garter belt with a little deer pendant in the middle. So cute!
Greg wore a few Irish St. Patrick’s Day elements on him that day. To complement his charcoal grey suit, he had the cutest green shamrock cuff links, a green tie from The Tie Bar; and some really fun shamrock socks to match with the groomsmen!
I started the day photographing their First Look (“Reveal”) in the Great Hall and a few couple portraits (since it was very cold outside that day!). Their intimate chapel wedding ceremony that followed was so sweet. I loved hearing the reading of the poem “How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog”. It also always really surprises me how many guests can fit into that little chapel at The Doctor’s House!
Their wedding reception was filled with sweet tributes to what amazing people Sherri and Greg are and how perfect they work well together and their guests made a fun game in making them kiss as many times as they could! Everyone was so happy to celebrate their love and together, they made it a very memorable St. Patrick’s Day for all! Congratulations Sherri and Greg on an amazing start to your marriage!
