Natalie and Charlie met over five years ago when they were in second year university at the University of Waterloo. Although they were both in different fields – Natalie in accounting and Charlie in Engineering, they both spent a lot of time studying at the Student Life Centre. One day, Natalie was lining up for coffee at Tim’s but realised she forgot her wallet. She noticed a cute guy in front of her and asked if he would be so kind to pay for her. They exchanged numbers so she could pay Charlie back but after a bit of texting, they agreed to meet each other for a date on Friday night. On their first date, they ended up meeting for coffee at McDonald’s but ended up chatting so much that they moved their conversation to Morty’s, a bar nearby and ended up talking to 12am that day!
After four months of officially dating, Charlie gave Natalie a memorable Christmas gift. Since they weren’t able to spend the holidays together (Charlie being in Ottawa with his family and Natalie in Toronto with hers), he put together twelve boxes to be opened between December 13th to the 25th. Each gift came with a personalised card but it was the last gift that was the most memorable. The very last card had a gold ring inside and it said something along the lines of “I know this gold ring is not real and it’s not your size, but this is a promise that one day I will make you my wife”.
Charlie and Natalie were inseparable after meeting. After graduating, Charlie found a job in Toronto to be in the same city as Natalie. Because of the hardships they had to overcome, they were able to grow stronger as a couple. They have come to enjoy doing many things with one another such as cooking and enjoying food together. But the main thing they love about each other is that they make each other better. At the end of summer last year, Charlie took Natalie on a hike at Niagara Glen Reserves, At the end of the trail, Charlie got down on one knee and asked Natalie to officially be his wife. In a heartbeat, Natalie said yes!
Their wedding day was at The Doctor’s House turned out to be a winter kind of a wedding instead of a fall wedding! The beautiful red leaves on the Japanese maple tree outside the Garden Room had all fallen on the ground but created a luscious red carpet which gave it a very unique look for photos! Natalie wore a beautiful curve-hugging bridal dress from Blue Bridal Boutique which she wore for her first look with Charlie and their wedding ceremony in The Doctor’s House Chapel. She then later changed into a strappy backless red dress for her Chinese tea ceremony and for some of their wedding reception. But don’t you love her sparkly Jimmy Choo heels? Many thanks to Carmen Tan Events for making sure the whole day was smoothly executed. Congrats Charlie and Natalie on your marriage and your beautiful wedding day!
