I had the opportunity to visit Boston a few years ago. Back then, I lived very close to the Billy Bishop Airport – so close I could walk there! Since my last visit, I have always had an inkling to go back with my husband! It’s such a beautiful city with chill vibes and some amazing seafood. Things that my husband and I love about a city 🙂
On one July weekend, we flew Porter Airlines to Boston. It’s so easy to do as we’re a quick Uber ride away (about 15 minutes!) and the Boston airport is well connected by transit. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, in the heart of the Theatre District which made it super convenient for us to see the whole city!
On our first day, we explored downtown Boston mostly on foot. As it was so hot though, we paid for a hop on and hop off bus tour to see some of the landmark sights of the Boston historical walk, known as The Freedom Trail. Included in our bus tour, was a short sightseeing cruise on the Boston Harbour. It’s so nice to be able to relax under the shade with the wind in your hair whilst still getting a glimpse of the city! The cruise also took us to USS Constitution Museum as well but we decided not to get off so we could explore more of the sights back in downtown Boston.
While I loved to see some of the historical sights on The Freedom Trail such as Custom House and Massachusetts State House it was so nice to be able to sit and enjoy some food at Quincy Market as well as relax under some shade in Boston Commons. Boston Commons has some beautiful historical monuments such as the George Washington statue!
Stay tuned for some more of our photos in Part 2 of our trip!
