It had poured with rain that afternoon. We tend to think of rain as a bad thing, but in fact rain keeps people together and calm things down. Especially during a hot summer when we start to crave for a little hint of coolness in the air. Right up to the very last minute, Lorraine kept wanting to make sure all the last minute details came together perfectly. But she needn’t have worried. The weather held up, the sun came out, the perfectly matched butterfly themed table settings were all in place, and Lorraine and Leo got married outside just as planned. Lorraine had sourced some butterflies for the ceremony that were to be released just after their vows. It was magical to witness as the butterflies began to flutter all around but settled amongst the flowers and in the grass, just like a fairytale.
I tend not to meddle in documenting the day, with the exception of the formal family and bride and groom portraits, of course. I wanted to showcase this wedding more so in black & white for that classic and elegant feel. I typically provide my clients with a variety of images including some (around 10-15%) converted to black & white.
The best part of the wedding was the photobooth! We had so many compliments about how much fun people had and that they were so happy to take home the prints from the wedding. We had so many repeat people coming back for more and more snaps! Lorraine & Leo’s wedding was so fun! But perhaps the best part was really when Leo tried to smash a cupcake in her face but with Lorraine’s quick reflexes, ended up smashing the cupcake into his shirt & tie! 🙂
Lorraine & Leo, thank you so much for having me the great honour in capturing your special day! It was such a pleasure to capture your celebration of your love in which you have been together almost 10 years! I wish you both all the best in life and love 🙂
