Megan and Matt met at Wilfred Laurier University having both gone to business school together. As they went to the same parties and had the same circle of friends they always kind of knew each other. Megan recalls how easy it was to spot Matt as he was always quite involved with school but also because he’s 6’4 and had a ginger afro! It was three years ago that Matt ditched the ginger afro and started chatting to Megan over Facebook. Megan started to notice him more and noticed how cute he was. They started dating but a month later Megan had a trip to India and Thailand but would be moving to Jasper, Alberta. Megan went on her trip and it only took Matt three days to realize that he would follow her to Jasper. Megan describes that as a key moment in their relationship calling the rest history! How amazing it is that although it initially took them awhile to find their connection, they quickly realized how incredible they are when they are together.
Megan calls themselves goofy and carefree. We had so much fun playing around in the leaves and running through the forest. If there’s anything, it is that they sure love to have fun! When Megan and I had met over coffee, we connected over how we both love dogs but never really had one! She says that her perfect date involves going pretend pupping shopping for St Bernards with Matt and that they love to ski together. For the engagement shoot, we headed over to Durham Forest a place that is close to SkyLoft, the ski hill they frequent. Durham Forest is in Uxbridge, Ontario, east of Toronto and north of Pickering and Whitby. Megan and Matt are having a winter wedding at The Manor and they’re having actually having shot-skis at the bar so that their guests can take shots together using their ski equipment! I’m so excited to shoot their wedding in February. It’s going to not only be beautiful but one fun party!
