There are so many things to love about Louisa and Jeffrey’s Holland Marsh Winery wedding. From getting to know Louisa and Jeff from our cherry blossom engagement session in Niagara together, we learned that they love sharing a romantic dinner at a winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This made a vineyard setting so perfect for their wedding! Holland Marsh Winery has a beautiful vineyard out the back as well as a beautiful rustic barn for their dinner reception. It is also surrounded by so many trees which made a gorgeous location for their outdoor garden wedding ceremony!
I love how Louisa and Jeff paired their rustic wedding theme with blush pink and white colours. The amazing thing is that Louisa and Jeff created so many of their own wedding items. From the cork “LOVE” sign, to the cork “I Do’s” to the wooden signs. Their wedding party was incredible in setting it up all of them on the day!
Their day started off at Louisa’s home for some door game fun. The bridesmaids were super creative with their tests. From making the groomsmen fit Jeff through a red hoop in mid-air at the front door, to putting together a complicated puzzle with three photos of Louisa holding signs which read “YOU COMPLETE ME” to making Jeff read a Chinese contract (all in Mandarin!) out loud and then signing his name on the dotted line. Their games followed with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at their home as well as at Jeff’s family home.
When we arrived at Holland Marsh Winery, Louisa changed into her white wedding gown from Blue Bridal Boutique and we photographed their First Look in the vineyard. This had to be one of our most favourite First Looks captured to date. Louisa and Jeff were so giggly in love when they saw each other. Jeff could not stop admiring his soon-to-be-wife and smiling adoringly at her. But if that was not cute enough, let me tell you what happened next. Louisa and Jeff exchanged gifts to each other in the vineyard with their backs to each other. As they opened their gifts, they realised that they had bought each other THE SAME GIFT! OH MY GOSH!!! They both knew that each other really wanted a Wedding Coin from the Canadian Mint to commemorate their wedding day. If that’s not a sign that they are meant to be together, then I don’t know what is. SO CUTE!!
At this time, we could hear thunder roaring loudly in the distance. We were so worried about their outdoor wedding ceremony! It started to get darker and windier. But the rain held up during their entire ceremony. Their ceremony in the gardens was so beautiful and as soon as they went inside for their reception, it started to rain. Louisa and Jeff surprised all their guests with a choreographed first dance. Later in the reception, when the rain stopped, the sun peaked out for just two minutes and we ran outside for some quick magical sunset photos! Louisa and Jeff took the time to enjoy a toasted marshmallow from the outdoor fireplace. At the end of the night, we had a few quick moments for some sparkler photos.
For Louisa and Jeff’s wedding, everything came together so perfectly! It was truly the most perfect day and I so loved capture their cuteness and how happy they were on their wedding day!
