Lately, I’ve been so crazy busy that my birthday completely crept up on me! All of a sudden the day arrived and I didn’t even have a moment to think about what I wanted to do. I’ve let myself become so completely overwhelmed with everything that I haven’t had the time to treat myself. Although I just LOVE bags, I haven’t bought a new bag in YEARS. YEARS I TELL YOU! I mean, what is life without a cute new bag every once in a while? Hahaha.
So on Friday, I took a couple of hours off and decided it was time to check out the new Premium Outlets in Toronto and grabbed myself this pretty little thing! It’s the Kate Spade Small Marguerite Bag in Lilac Road and I just love it! I’ve been wanting a scalloped edge bag for SO long! I had been eyeing the Mulberry Scalloped purse but they were sold out before I could buy them. Then I had been debating on whether to buy the ASOS Scalloped shoulder bag but I hesitate about buying bags online. Then when I was in Malaysia, I saw that Kate Spade had scalloped bags but the colours were so bold! So I was so delighted when I saw this lavender coloured scalloped bag in the store in Toronto! It is so so cute!
Then to celebrate my birthday, I made my favourite treats in the whole world – ANZAC biccies! If you didn’t know already but I’m a proud Australian and my birthday falls on one of the most special days in Australia, ANZAC Day. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp and every year on April 25, we honour the troops that represented our country. I try to make ANZAC biscuits every year in honour (and also because I love them so damn much!). They’re made with Rolled Oats and Golden Syrup and I’ve blogged about them before on my food & travel blog.
This year, my sweet little brother sent me a birthday card in the mail and included an ANZAC biscuit recipe to remind me to make them. They’re so easy to make and so quick to whip up. If I can make them, then anybody can! I made my first batch chewy and my second batch crunchy by leaving it in the oven a little longer. They’re sooo delicious and the kitchen smells so good when they’re done baking. Check them out below 🙂
