Tanya and Nikhil had a beautiful fusion wedding of both of their cultures at the Markham Hilton Suites. Nik’s family is Hindu and Tanya’s family is Parsi so they incorporated two ceremonies to honour both of their cultural backgrounds.
Before their wedding ceremony, Tanya and Nik decided to see each other beforehand. It was such a cute moment in the hotel’s Zen Garden where they were both beaming full of joy. We then headed over to Toogood Pond near Unionville for their wedding portraits.
Both Tanya and Nik wore traditional cultural attire. Although a traditional Parsi bride would wear a white saree, Tanya chose to wear a white lehenga with beautiful shimmering elements. On the other hand, Nik wore a Sherwani, a traditional Northern India outfit, which was accessorized by a red shawl and white juttis (shoes) but later changed into a tux for their reception.
Tanya and Nik chose to have a classic and elegant feel with shades of pink, greenery and gold accents. Design Mantraa did such a lovely job creating a beautiful backdrop for both their ceremony and reception. I really loved their cute little sweetheart table which was setup right in the middle of the stage.
They kept their wedding reception traditional but also very short and sweet. They only had one dance (their first dance as bride and groom!), where they danced to Nat King Cole’s classic “L.O.V.E”. Tran, a mutual friend of both the bride and groom actually played a huge part in getting Tanya and Nik together so wrote a special speech in dedication to them. It was so sweet!
At the end of the night, Tanya and Nik said their thank you’s to all their guests who came to celebrate this special day with them. It was such a beautiful day from start to finish and am so grateful to have captured this day for them!
