Something that has become more and more popular lately are post-wedding sessions! As wedding photography become more and more important, people are starting to realize that there is just not enough time on the wedding day to do all the photos they have been dreaming of. For Helen and Kim’s Vietnamese wedding in Melbourne, they had a lot of traditions and family portraits that needed to be done which took up time on the wedding day. We were also travelling a lot from location to location. Despite allocating 2.5 hours for bride and groom portraits, we ended up not having much time on the day. As well as their wedding was on a Saturday (as weddings typically are!) so there were a lot of people in the park.
It’s such a different experience to have a stress-free portrait session where there’s nobody around. You are free to be as lovey-dovey as you feel comfortable doing and we don’t have to continually wait for people to get out of the shot. One the best part is that we can schedule the session wherever! Even though Helen and Kim had their wedding in the middle of the city of Melbourne (at Melbourne Museum actually!) we were able to get these super gorgeous beach-side wedding photos. On top of that, we can schedule the session when the light is just right and that’s right at sunset hour! I mean look at these warm dreamy and romantic colours! With some magazine-like wind to give that flowy dress and veil effect, it could not have been a better day!
Thank you Helen and Kim, for always trusting me with your photos! You got all dressed up again, drove all the way out here, and gave it everything for this amazing session together. It was so amazing to have gotten to know you both and photographed your love not just once but twice.
