Emily contacted me two years ago after I photographed her best friend, Trang’s pre-wedding session and wedding in Melbourne. From corresponding with Emily, I knew she was a highly detail oriented person and planner! She knew what she wanted for her wedding day and especially because of all her hard planning, I wanted to make sure she got it!
Emily explained to me that despite being together with Nhan for over twelve years, she and Nhan hardly take any photos of themselves together. Because they hardly had any photos together, the pre-wedding and wedding photos meant a lot to them. She also explained that they weren’t very lovey-dovey and they can be very “awkward” in front of the camera. I think this is very normal for any couple – I mean, unless you’re a professional model – nobody knows how to properly pose for the camera! But that’s why we are here to help!
Emily and Nhan had chosen the classically gorgeous Carlton Gardens for their Melbourne pre-wedding session. It is a beautiful choice because of it’s beautiful natural gardens and landscape as well as it is centred around the most amazing Melbourne landmark, the Royal Exhibition Building. If you didn’t know, Carlton Gardens, as well as the Royal Exhibition Building, became a World Heritage Site in 2004! This well-kept historical building and its gardens have been around since the 1880s!
The Carlton Gardens is perfect for classic and romantic portraits, but just around the corner at the Melbourne Museum, there are some great locations for some fun photography! Emily and Nhan chose to wear a suit and a long white dress which was so perfect for the location! But what I loved most is how adorable Emily and Nhan were – they were giggling and having fun. Not the awkward two that they describe themselves to be!
Emily and Nhan’s wedding day is just ONE WEEK away and I’m so so excited to photograph more of their sweet love!
