Happy Thanksgiving Canada! October is such a fun time of year with the fall colours, the brisk cooler air, and the joys of turkey dinner around the family table. For us, it’s an even more momentous as we are excited to announce that we are engaged! It was not something that I was anticipating whatsoever but is surely something to celebrate! Cottage country around the Muskoka and Algonquin Park region is absolutely stunning right now and is just perfect for Muskoka fall engagement photos! We have shamely attempted to visit Algonquin Park in the fall for all the beautiful array of colours for the last 3 years but haven’t quite made it. There was always something that stopped us – usually it was the weather in that it was too rainy or that a recent storm had blew all the colourful leaves off the trees leaving them completely barren.
This year we were incredibly lucky to have the weekend off to visit Muskoka. Our summer has been completely jam packed full of weddings that we hadn’t even had time to catch our breath! I think that our little break up to Muskoka was well deserved but more than anything, very well enjoyed. We felt so fortunate to be amongst nature’s beauty. We had a tiny little chalet with our own private lake. We hiked. We canoed. We fished. I loved witnessing the leaves falling one by one off their branches, fluttering all around like snow. It is so serene up here. We made sure to get up early to witness the sunrise where the light was the colour of gold and enjoy the crisp clean air. Most of all we enjoyed spending time with one another.
It was one of those times that we were so happy to have our cameras. We spend so much time behind the cameras making sure to capture memories for everyone that we have to make a special effort to ensure we make our own special memories. These photos have special meaning to us now because this is where we got engaged. This is where we decided to take the next step in our lives. This is where we promised each other that we would be with each other forever.
