Alexandra and Jamie’s love story is beyond adorable! They met in high school when Alex was 16 and Jamie was 17, but Jamie had a crush on Alex before they had officially even met. What is remarkable is that they’ve now been together for over thirteen years! Although Jamie had been planning to propose on Alex’s birthday, her grandfather fell quite ill and was admitted to a hospice. Her grandfather asked when they were getting engaged and admitted that it was his “dang wish” to see them engaged while he was still alive. A few weeks later and to the surprise of Alex, Jamie proposed right there in the hospice when they went to visit her grandfather. It turned out that he was in on it. As another surprise and a huge blessing, her grandfather was released for being “too healthy” and is still alive to this day. Best engagement story ever!!
Alex and Jamie are so cute together, laughing and giggling with one another like the two teenagers who have just met. I love that they are still so much in love after being together for so long already. There is something just so special about high school sweethearts – they are really just meant to be. They know just how to cheer each other up and are always having fun with one another.
For their engagement session, we went to a local park in Oakville where they used to hang when they were younger. This park has so much meaning to them and it was such a pleasure to capture this for them and hear some of the stories together. I love how Alex paired her outfit with a warm shawl for a cozy look. Plus her gorgeous light coloured oufit and romantic tulle skirt totally popped from the natural fall colours around them. I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding day which I know is going to be as sweet as they are!
