Stephanie and Dickson’s love story began all the way back in Grade 11 when she saw him in the school cafeteria. She hadn’t seen him before and asked someone about him. She was told “he’s your future husband”. She laughed it off, thinking how silly! She didn’t even know him or have even talked to him before.
Although Dickson didn’t remember seeing her in the cafeteria, Dickson noticed Stephanie in chemistry class. Despite the fact that he thought she was very pretty, he was too shy to really talk to her. Stephanie worked up the courage to talk to him by asking him for some gum. Dickson used offering gum to her as a way to talk to her. As they began talking to each other, Dickson then took the next move in asking for her email address for homework help. They began talking more and more and they began looking forward to talking to each other every day. Dickson admits how he used to skip a lot of classes back in high school but he would never skip chemistry!
Dickson recalls how he used to tell Stephanie how pretty she was, but she would always reply something along the lines of “you’re lying”. He says he still gets these replies even til this day! He remembers how he spent the entire summer of Grade 12 chasing her before he really got the courage to ask her out.
They met in Grade 11 and now have been together for 11 years til this day! And although they have been together for so many years, they still enjoy each other’s company and to spend their nights cuddling at home together on the couch.
These two are seriously cute as ever. For their Richmond Green fall engagement session, it was so romantic with the fall colours! I think Autumn is so magical with its rich and vibrant colours. Lately, the weather in Toronto has been pretty awful! With so much rain, it’s been really difficult to schedule fall engagement sessions. As I was driving up to photograph Stephanie and Dickson’s engagement, the clouds started to get worse and worse – it looked like it was going to torrential rain on us! It was a day that most clients would have cancelled, but Stephanie and Dickson went along with it anyway – and I’m so glad we did! A beautiful rainbow came out in the middle of our session as well as a beautiful sunset with the prettiest sky I have seen in a long while!
Stephanie and Dickson giggle and laugh so easily together. I so loved photographing them and can’t wait for their big day next year!
