After working at the same optometrist store, Yinju and Run discovered that they were both studying at Melbourne University. Their boss thought they would be a good match together and would often schedule their lunch breaks at the same time. Yinju recalls how Run was very quiet and shy at the beginning and how she thought that he wasn’t interested at all. But as they began to hang out regularly, Run started to open and they continued to spend time with each other.
When Yinju finished her Optometry degree she secured a good opportunity to work in Shepparton, a country town in Victoria where she could gain a lot of experience. Run soon followed her and they lived there together for a few years. When her contract finished, her boss at her original workplace found out she was looking to move back to Melbourne and offered her a job. Later, Run followed her again back to Melbourne but found an opportunity in Mornington Peninsula. Yinju and Run then spent quite some time in this beautiful scenic part of Victoria. It’s relaxed feel and gorgeous views of the ocean bring many people of Victoria here for weekend visits, but it is now a very familiar place for them.
Yinju really wanted a place with lots of flowers for their engagement session. Run found the ultimate perfect place – the Mornington Peninsula Botanical Rose Garden! It was filled with a variety of roses and in all shades of colours. We were so lucky because it was so cloudy all day, but the sun came out just as we arrived. SO PERFECT! I love love love how this engagement session turned out because it was so romantic and so very Victoria (known as the Garden State of Australia). Yinju and Run were so adorable.. and I can’t get enough of her Tiffany ring! It is SO sparkly!
We then went to Oliver’s Point for that stunning view of the coast! I remember how my father used to take my family for weekend trips to Mornington Peninsula and we could never get bored of watching the waves come into the shore. This view is so iconic to my home, my childhood, to Australia. I am so looking forward to photographing their wedding next Saturday at Encore which is located on St Kilda Beach. A beach wedding? How so very Australian. So can’t wait!
