Mickie and Sean met over seven years ago while they were working together at a hospital. Sean was a staff pharmacist and Mickie was a pharmacy student and they quickly learned they had very similar interest and sense of humour. Their first date was based on a wager which Mickie confidently won, where Sean challenged her knowledge of the video game, Rock Band. She then won a dinner at Lobster Trap – the first of many meals together! Their wedding date this coming year is set on their eighth year anniversary! So cute!
Mickie completely loves the world of Harry Potter. Sean took this idea and took Mickie’s limited edited Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection Box. On the day they moved into their condo together, Sean asked Mickie to use a backlight to inspect one of their furniture units. Mickie thought it was little strange, especially since Sean suggested for her to “cast the revealing spell” (Revelio!) over her box. When she did so, she could see glow-in-the-dark words form which read “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good”. In Harry Potter, this makes the Marauder’s Map to reveal itself. At first, Mickie thought it may have been a hidden Easter egg but when she pulled open one of the drawers, she found a ring box. Sean then got down on one knee and popped the question. One Mickie’s engagement ring, Sean had engraved the words “Mischief Managed”. In Harry Potter, this makes the Marauder’s Map to hide its contents! Such a great idea!
I love how they take each other’s dreams and make it come true! Love in itself is a fairytale and I wanted to make their engagement session as magical and fairytale like as their engagement story! I love these photos we got at Guildwood Park and the Scarborough Bluffs, as they are both very Harry Potter-esque with the forest, the old elegant architectural structures, and even the overhanging cliff at the bluffs. Harry Potter not only has a beautiful grand castle, but so many beautiful scenic places that seem like they only exist in a dream!
So can’t wait for their wedding later this year, where they will again tie in their Harry Potter theme! Having just finished reading the series myself (yeah yeah, I know it took me like ten years to finish it!), I can’t even tell you how excited I am! I just know it’s going to be as magical and fairytale as their entire love story so far.
