Angie and Jon met at a cafe shop around Christmas 5 years ago. It took Jon about a year of chasing before he finally asked Angie to be his girlfriend on a date at Nuit Blanche. Nuit Blanche then became a yearly tradition, going out to celebrate their anniversary. Angie and Jon love to try new experiences – whether it be a new restaurant or an activity.
Last year around Christmas time, it was Jon’s turn to plan a date night for Angie and he took the opportunity to make his proposal less conspicuous. He told her that they were going to go out to the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District before heading out to dinner at a bar. But little did she know, he had rented out the second floor of the bar to be decorated with balloons, flowers, lights and their Instax pictures. It turned out to be a huge success as they are now happily engaged!
For their engagement session, we wanted to celebrate their Christmas tradition and we headed out to the Distillery District during the Christmas Market in Toronto. It was such a blistery cold winter’s day that it was actually -20C with windchill! Yet Angie and Jon braved the freezing cold and went out on the pier for some snuggly pictures with the beautiful Toronto skyline behind them. We then headed over to the Distillery District for some cute pictures amongst all the Christmas decorations and lights. I always really love the adorable signs and backdrops we could photograph with at the Christmas Market such as twinkling Christmas tree, the “Love” and “Peace” signs and also that iconic red heart! Although it was so brutally cold, Angie and Jon were just so cute together, keeping close and snuggly with one another.
