Erin and Alex met through mutual friends in 2011 but then later crossed paths again at a Nuit Blanche party later that year. This time, they knew it was fate. They spoke all night and developed an incredibly close friendship over the following months. By the end of the year, their friendship turned into a relationship and they have been inseparable ever since.
Five years later, they took the next step and moved in together and adopted their pride and joy, a dog who they named Polo. When it came to Christmas of 2017, Alex suggested that they take a walk before opening presents. Although it was snowing and the wind was cold, they continued along the shoreline enjoying a quiet morning together.
Alex then turned to her and asked “Are you sure you want to do this? You can’t be chicken.” Erin replied, “Oh I’m not chicken. I’m in it for the long haul!” When they finally reached the bench which they’ve sat on many times, Alex kissed Erin and said, “I just want you to know, I’m in it for the long haul.” He then got down on one knee with Polo seated by his side and said, “…and that’s why I got you this. Will you marry me?” Erin said “yes” without a doubt!
As they started to settle down as being a newly engaged couple, they were surprised to discover that they were expecting a baby! With their new addition due in March 2019, Erin and Alex moved up their official union sooner rather than later to express their love and devotion to each other in front of their closest family and friends.
For their wedding day, they chose Archeo at the Distillery District during the Toronto Christmas Market. But before their day began, they got ready at the King Edward Hotel where they saw each other for the first time that day. Although it was quite busy with lots of people at the Christmas Market, we managed to get some lovely photos around the Distillery with Erin, Alex, Polo, and their bridal party.
Alex is actually an artist and designer who works in the film industry and put his creative talents in making all the wooden signage for the wedding. Erin and Alex’s wedding ceremony and reception both took place inside the restaurant. It was so beautifully decorated by Coquette Studios with a gorgeous floral arch and floral garlands on each of the wooden dining tables. But my favourite moment of the whole wedding day was their first dance. It really looked like Erin and Alex just forgot everything around them and just was so happy to enjoy this time together being husband and wife at last! Congratulations Erin and Alex on this amazing day!
