Allie and Anthony met while attending the University of Waterloo. They were at a local bar called Phil’s on Hip Hop Wednesday which is an iconic Waterloo student hangout with cheap drinks. Allie describes Anthony as the most genuine person she has ever met and her best friend. Anthony loves that Allie always knows exactly what he needs to be happy.
After four years, they have travelled to twenty countries and lived in four different cities and two countries together. Right before they moved to England, Anthony proposed to Allie in front of their families! They ended up hosting a goodbye/engagement party that was British themed.
Allie and Anthony’s wedding was a beautiful simple, elegant and timeless celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel. Since they now live in England, they just wanted to celebrate their wedding with all their family and friends who came in from all over the world! They chose an officiant who has an English accent to continue the England theme!
The beautiful Aria room at the Four Seasons Hotel had a delicate colour scheme with the cherry blossom and sage background. Allie is actually allergic to pollen so they had to avoid using flowers altogether for their decor. They played off the neutral tones of the room and used succulents instead in their bouquet and centrepieces and describe their wedding theme as “succulent hues”. I just loved Allie’s bouquet which was made up of succulents – it was very unique and captured the natural look she was going for.
Allie actually did her own makeup in the morning and got ready with her sister and her mom. She wore a lovely A-line bridal dress from Sophie’s Gown Shoppe that suited her perfectly. Anthony got ready into a sleek Vera Wang suit with his best man Rob and his parents. The bridesmaids all had different coloured dresses but in subtle tones to match their succulent hues colour scheme. Allie wanted them to wear something that they felt both beautiful and comfortable in.
Allie and Anthony opted to see each other before the ceremony with a sweet first look! I consider myself lucky that I get to witness some pretty special moments at weddings and the first time Allie and Anthony saw each other that day was just that! It was an emotional moment that I am sure they will remember forever. We then captured their bride and groom portraits in and around the hotel in Yorkville. Allie’s long cathedral length veil was so dreamy for all the wedding pictures. Their wedding reception was filled with lots of good stories and laughs and ended off with lots of dancing on the dance floor!
Allie and Anthony, thank you for having us capture this memorable moment in your lives for you!
