Danielle and Tim met six years ago during orientation week at university. They quickly became friends in an “opposites attract” way – Danielle was very serious but Tim was much more outgoing. Over the next several weeks, they grew closer together and that’s when they started developing feelings for each other. One day, Tim asked Danielle if she wanted to watch “Lost in Translation” together and the rest is history!
They’ve gone through so much together already. They’ve motivated each other to do well in school despite lots of ups and downs, travelled to Japan together after their graduation and even landed their dream jobs together in London, Ontario. They’ve always been a team together and supportive of each other’s endeavours. Although they both lead busy lives at work, they know that they can count on the other person for support.
Their engagement story is one of their favourite stories to share! Tim knew that the kind of ring Danielle had wanted was at a particular store in the GTA. Since they live in London, finding time to sneak away without Danielle knowing is not an easy task! But over New Year’s, Tim was flying home from Thunder Bay which required him to layover in Toronto for an hour. He ended up calling Air Canada to delay his second flight back to London so he could Uber to the store to pick up the ring!
A couple of week’s later on a trip to Costa Rica, Tim sneakily hid the ring in a suitcase even though they had packed it together. During the trip, he liaised with their tour guide and photographer who helped him plan the perfect proposal. During their last day, the group had met up on the beach at sunset to have photos taken by the photographer. Unbeknownst to Danielle, everyone in the group was distracting her while Tim was hiding in the back to transfer the ring from our backpack into his pant pocket. When it was Danielle and Tim’s turn, I noticed that everyone besides the photographer was taking photos of them, to which Danielle then asked Tim “this is weird – why is everyone taking a picture of us?” That’s when Tim said, “what if I told you I have a ring on me right now”. Danielle replied, “no you don’t!!”. But he did, and that’s when he proposed to her with a beautiful sunset backdrop and a photograph of the memory to share!
I love that we went to Edwards Gardens for their engagement session. It was really special since it was actually the same place where her parents had their wedding photos done. It also captured the natural vibe that they have together. I also love how Tim brought his guitar to play for Danielle – something that he loves to do for her.
Danielle and Tim will be getting married in June next year and I so can’t wait to capture more memories for them!
