Vanessa and Paul’s wedding day started at The Four Seasons where they got ready. Vanessa’s sister helped her with her hair and her mom helped her get into her gorgeous Paloma Blanca lace dress. It was a stunning sleeveless v-neck bridal gown with blush pink undertones created by a soft silk lining which really matched her blush pink Badgley Mischka bridal heels.
Vanessa’s girls (she had eight bridesmaids!) wore pretty pink Henkaa dresses which are super cool especially when you have a large bridal party! This is because these Henkaa dresses are very multi-way dresses so you can tie them up however you want to for different looks. As such, each bridesmaid could wear the dress in a unique way, as well as they decided to wear them a little bit more conservatively for the church ceremony and then tied them slightly different for the rest of the day.
Before they left for their wedding ceremony, Vanessa and Paul exchanged wedding gifts to each other. Paul received a set of Mont Blanc cufflinks and Vanessa a red Chanel purse. Vanessa and Paul had a church wedding ceremony at St Wilfred’s Church with the traditional Filipino coin, veil and rope ceremonies.
Before we headed over to the reception, we headed over to Humber Arboretum for some beautiful shots in the garden. From Vanessa and Paul’s engagement session at Guildwood Park, I knew that they love to incorporate flowers in their photos (as do I!) so this place was too perfect for them as there were flowers everywhere! We were able to capture a few more shots of them at The Manor out by the beautiful gazebo and the pond.
My favourite part of the day has to be their reception – when Vanessa and Paul’s family got to say a few words about them and attest to their strong relationship that they have. Their speeches bringing most of the crowd to tears! Paul’s best friend Sonny said that they knew their relationship would turn to marriage by the way they looked at each other. Vanessa’s father said that no matter what they went through, they never ever broke up and that he was so thankful that Paul formally asked him for his permission to take Vanessa’s hand in marriage. It meant a lot to Vanessa’s dad and said it was the “sweetest thing ever”.
But we were all gushing when Paul admitted he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Vanessa the moment he met her. He loved how caring and how family oriented she is and that was what he was looking for in a partner. Paul and his groomsmen tore up the dancefloor with a choreographed dance number as a surprise for Vanessa. The danced to 90s pop tunes including Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, N’Sync. The crowd lit up and all the phones came out to record the whole thing. Of course, the crowd went wild when they started getting down to “Pony”. It was a well-performed routine and you could just tell that not only Vanessa but the entire room loved it. Closer to the end of the night, Vanessa and Paul had their traditional Filipino money dance and an ice cream bar from Mister Wilson to treat their guests!
