When Chris was growing up, his parents would joke – if it takes him such a long time to find a pair of jeans he likes, how would he ever find a suitable wife? Even his best friend Sam knew that Chris was very picky and especially when it comes to finding his special someone. But one day Chris decided to drive all the way to Ottawa to meet Cheryl. Sam was so surprised because Chris was the kind of guy who liked to, in his words – “maximise the amount of value with the lowest amount of effort”. So driving all the way to Ottawa was really out of character for Chris.
They ended up meeting at Chapters and had such a fun time touring the museums, visiting Parliament and even white water rafting. The rest was history. After four years on Valentine’s Day, Chris took Cheryl out to one a nice restaurant they both loved and when they were back home, he popped the question!
Cheryl and Chris’ family flew in from Malaysia, Hong Kong, USA and across Canada for their wedding day. Their day started off at Chris’ family home for a traditional tea ceremony and then we headed off for some wedding photos down by the lake in Mississauga. Cheryl looked dazzling in an Essense of Australia bridal dress from Blu Ivory Bridal. It featured a stunning lace beaded open back with crystal buttons all the way down the length of the train! The satin skirt was the perfect touch of elegance especially paired with her silver Christian Louboutins.
We rushed back into downtown for their wedding ceremony at beautiful the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Toronto. Their wedding ceremony was so sweet! Cheryl’s father was so so cute. This was a very important moment for him, so he had set up his own video camera at the top of the aisle so he could capture himself walking his daughter to her groom.
Cheryl and Chris’ wedding reception was an intimate affair. The Museum Room at the Shangri-La is so elegant with the chandeliers and the glass windows. The dining room was decorated in gold, pink and cream. They opted for a low-key event with minimal events so that all their guests could enjoy their dinner. But one super adorable moment was when Cheryl and Chris shared a duet of the song “Lucky”. Cheryl loves to sing so it was such a super sweet performance by the newly wedded couple!
You can just tell that being around Cheryl and Chris that they fit each other like two puzzle pieces. They get each other so so well. I love how they joke around with one another – making funny faces and just always sharing small moments together while they can. Their wedding day was just beautiful from start to finish. A huge congratulations to Cheryl and Chris on their wedding day!
