Back in the summer I had the honour in photographing one of life’s greatest moments – the proposal! I honestly can’t imagine what it’s like to be a guy who has the pressure in making it go perfectly without his girlfriend’s knowledge. I find that girls can be pretty good in picking up little things here and there, put two and two together and figure it out. So when a guy is able to pull off a complete surprise proposal it HAS to be photographed. That’s why I so love Toronto surprise proposal photography!
It was Alykhan’s plan to propose at Toronto’s prettiest and largest park, High Park. He brought a pink rose and Shamsa’s favourite book, Harry Potter. On the inside of the book, he had carved a small whole to fit the ring. Alykhan had to come up with a super intricate story along with his friends to help pull this one off without Shamsa knowing a thing. I hid behind the bushes and photographed the whole thing. Afterwards, we spent a few minutes walking around High Park (including around the fountain and the pond) taking a few portraits of this newly engaged couple!
