Photographing Saara and Asif’s wedding was a whirlwind. Two days before their actual wedding day, we captured their puro and pithi parties that were held separately for their families to bless their marriage. I always love a multi-day wedding because we get to spend so much time with their families and really capture their excitement and joy over the numerous days.
Saara and Asif had a traditional Ismaili Nikkah wedding ceremony at the Unionville Jamatkhana in Markham. Saara and Asif really wanted to just enjoy their wedding day, so we actually took a bit of a break in between their ceremony and reception while they relaxed a little bit and got ready into their reception attire. Saara wore an incredibly beautiful saree brought all the way from Pakistan by Asif’s parents that was custom designed just for her!
Their wedding reception was held at the Mississauga Convention Centre where they hosted over 400 guests. Susan at BeYOUtiful Beginnings ensured everything ran without a hitch! It was so gorgeously decorated in their purple wedding colours, and their cake from Armeen’s Cakes was so pretty! Saara and Asif took part in the traditional Ismaili ceremonies performed by Asif’s mother.
Later in the evening, Saara and Asif took place in the classic shoe game which everyone always enjoys! It’s always so interesting getting to know the dynamics of each relationship. Saara and Asif’s friends wowed us with not just one, but two dance performances! But it was Saara and Asif’s first dance that really blew us away! They started off with a slow dance and then threw on some sunglasses and all their friends started a flash mob!
