I was so thrilled when Victoria & Denis told me they were getting married at Madsen’s Gardens in Newmarket as I had heard about it not long ago and think it is so pretty! In Canada, the weather can be so unpredictable and if you’re a nature lover then being outdoors is a dream. But sometimes you just never know what mother nature can bring you. What’s awesome about Madsen’s Greenhouse is that you don’t have to worry about all that! You can be with the leaves and the flowers even if it’s raining! We didn’t have to worry though – it rained for a few minutes in the morning and then it was so sunny all day!
Not too long ago, I shot Victoria & Denis’ engagement at the Distillery District and James Gardens. I love how Victoria made her favourite colour which is royal blue run through her engagement session and into her wedding. Did you notice that even her engagement ring featured this beautiful colour? Victoria wore a stunning custom wedding dress with a royal blue corset lace up and paired this with royal blue heels. Both her mother and her bridesmaid, Kristina wore resplendent royal blue full length gowns.
I loved the way Devin just glowed as Victoria made her way down the aisle to greet him at the ceremony. At that very moment you could just know how much he adores her. Moments like this are just priceless! Victoria & Denis wedded in an intimate ceremony with just 50 close family members. There were so many great opportunities for pictures at Madsen’s that I could’ve stayed there with them for hours and hours! After the ceremony we ran over to Bonseph Tannery for some more creative bride & groom portraits and then over to Tatiana Banquet Hall for a traditional Russian wedding reception! I was completely blown away by Victoria & Denis’ first dance! It was so well choreographed and performed – I can’t believe they pulled it altogether in just two weeks! Denis swung Victoria around in his arms quite a few times during the dance which is quite impressive!
Victoria & Denis, thank you for having me shoot your special day! Wishing you many years of wedded bliss!
